We are happy to announce that His Eminence Kyabje Thuksey Rinpoche will be visiting London in January 2015.
The previous Thuksey Rinpoche was the first guru of His Holiness the Gyalwang Drukpa and we are especially delighted to welcome His Eminence now on the occasion of his first visit to the UK.
His Eminence Kyabje Thuksey Rinpoche the second was born in Ladakh, India in 1986 on the tenth day of the first Tibetan month . During the entire week before his birth, ravens guarded the family’s house and a light pleasant drizzle of rain showered upon the village. These signs were seen as very auspicious. As a young boy His Eminence was taken to Darjeeling to grow up in the Druk Sangag Choeling Monastery under the guidance of his Guru, His Holiness the Gyalwang Drukpa, head of the Drukpa lineage of Tibetan Buddhism.
In 2012, His Eminence Kyabje Thuksey Rinpoche graduated from Tango Buddhist University in Bhutan, where he studied for nine years, with a Master’s Degree in Philosophy. Since graduation, he had taken over the management and administration of Druk Sangag Choeling Monastery in Darjeeling. He is now the Chairperson of the award-winning green school in Ladakh, the Druk White Lotus School, and like his spiritual brother His Eminence Gyalwa Dokhampa Jigme Pema Nyinjadh, he is now actively assisting His Holiness the Gyalwang Drukpa in the affairs concerning the Drukpa Lineage, especially in Europe and India.
